This old with eight small drawers would once have been used to hold herbs and remedies associated with Chinese medicine. The simple ring handles are new and the darkened cream lacquer on the front of each drawer contrasts beautifully with the surrounding blue. Today the chest would make a great side cabinet in a reception room or bedroom.
